New Remote I/O Modules for EtherNet/IP™, Modbus/TCP, Modbus RTU & Profibus
Product News Tuesday, March 5, 2013: ALLPRONIX
The EtherNet/IP™ and Modbus TCP/IP I/O modules, have a built-in network port eliminating the space and expense of a bus-coupler unit. Modules interface up to 12 analogue or digital I/O signals directly to an EtherNet/IP™ network. Therefore each module can operate independently of a bus-coupler or controller that typically handles network communication for modular block I/O systems, and are able to deliver a far more cost and space-efficient solution. No software is required as the set-up uses a standard Web Browser to configure an embedded web page. A 12-channel I/O solution would need only one inch of DIN rail space. The I/O modules provide a 3 way isolated EtherNet/IP 10/100 Mbps network interface. To ensure interoperability, units have passed the internationally recognized EtherNet/IP conformance tests established by the ODVA™ (Open DeviceNet Vendors Association)
Three I/O module types are available. The discrete I/O modules are ideal for ON/OFF monitoring and control of industrial devices. Analogue input modules convert DC voltage, current or temperature signals from sensors to the network. Analogue output modules provide DC current or voltage control signals.
An internal micro-controller processes the I/O signals and directs all operations. Built-in watchdog timers continuously monitor network communications while self-diagnostic routines simplify maintenance and troubleshooting. A failsafe mode can also be set to ensure outputs are sent to a safe state if a failure occurs. LEDs indicate power, network activity, and individual channel status. Discrete I/O is offered on three models with a choice of twelve input channels, twelve output channels, or twelve individually selectable bi-directional input/output channels. Analogue output models provide 0/4 to 20mA DC current output or 0 to 10V DC voltage output signals.
A range of Ethernet switches and Profibus modules are also available.
