Mr Wouter van der Merwe had several incidents of poachers illegally entering his farm to slaughter Rhinos for their horns. They decided to install day/night cameras at strategic locations throughout the farm. The cameras are connected to AirMax2 Wi-Fi units which send the video feeds back to a PC at the main office. The remote cameras and wireless devices out in the field are conveniently solar powered. With the aid of excellent night vision capabilities, the OD-325HD 4mm camera with built in Infrared LED’s, the client is able to see activity even on the darkest nights, without having to installing any additional lighting. The internal motion detection can be used to trigger recording onto the hard drives, should they need it for evidence. The camera and free software support remote viewing of live camera feeds, which means that management can view the camera feed from anywhere in the world using a PC, laptop or smartphone with an internet connection.

 

All the equipment used is out the box IP65 rated and ready to use in harsh outdoor application, the OD-325HD 4mm camera, the AriMax2 outdoor Wi-Fi CPE and the 85Watt Solar Panels. The backup batteries, solar regulator and termination connectors were connected up and installed in an IP65 housing.
