Reinhausen Picks HVDH SA

HVDH SA has just received an order for the supply of an aluminium profile structure to a customer, Reinhausen in Johannesburg.
This structure will be constructed at Reinhausen's site and will be used primarily for training customers on the maintenance of electrical tap changing devices found in heavy current electrical transformers. Importantly this structure needed to maintain an international standard in terms of appearance, feel and safety.
This order required extensive design work and the eventual submission had to compete not only in price, but also on performance and aesthetics with submissions both from Europe and South America.
Again HVDH SA had provided a solution to Reinhausen on a previous project that resulted in them having the confidence in HVDH SA being able to deliver on this new requirement.
The project will involve the following activities:
- The design and fabrication of a raised aluminium profile structure by HVDH SA using ALKOR profiles, for which HVDH SA is the agent for sub Saharan Africa.
- The manufacture of certain fittings and fixtures that would form part of this structure.
- The purchase and incorporation of certain buy in items specified on the design specification.
- The installation of the electrical switchgear and power cabling for the various demonstration units that would eventually be mounted on the periphery of the platform.
- The moving and rigging of the structure from its place of design and test erection to Reinhausen's site and into its final agreed position.
- The certification / conformance of the electrical installations on the platform.
