MaPa build Fire Fighting Units for Tshwane
Company News Wednesday, October 12, 2011: MaPa Cleaning Technologies
MaPa Cleaning Technologies have recently designed & manufactured ten Industrial Bakkie Mounted High Pressure Fire Fighting Units for the City of Tshwane and fitted these on the load bodies of Global Nissan 4x4 Patrol off road bakkies.
The unit comprises a 650 litre red step tank with a fully surrounding galvanised steel frame for protection. A heavy duty 80 metre capacity lockable live hose reel fitted with 50 metre 3/8" flame retardant rubber encased, twin wire, high pressure fire fighting hose & an industrial jetting trigger with a nozzle that can be varied from fan to fog jet action was supplied as standard equipment.
The unit has an electric start Honda 18Hp OHV Petrol engine coupled direct to the industrial high pressure positive displacement piston pump via a reduction gearbox, allowing the unit to operate easily @ a flow rate of 21 l/min and up to a working pressure of 200 bar.
These new concept bush fire fighting units are the ultimate in fire prevention when attacking "bush or veld fires" by applying both the kinetic force of water under pressure & the smothering effect of misting droplets which chokes the surrounding air at the ignition point, allowing the operators to fight fires much quicker & more effectively.
Mapa has also custom manufactured a 42 l/min @ 100 bar version of the above unit which is also available with a diesel engine option.
