Thermosiphon Solar Geyser System

Thermosiphon Solar Geyser System

Product News Wednesday, March 2, 2011: Tasol Solar (Solar Academy of Sub Saharan Africa (Pty) Ltd)

These Thermosiphon Solar Geyser Systems work on the principle that when water is heated it gets less dense and rises to the top of the container. Colder, denser, water then moves in to the bottom of the container to replace the hot water. This process will continue as long as there is a sufficient temperature rise of the water to maintain this artifical pressure difference. There is no electricial circulation pump involved. There are two types of thermosiphons systems, depending how the tank is configured in relation to the collector. It can be as above then it is known as remote storage thermosiphon system, or there is also a close coupled system where the tubes are directy connected into the tank, or remote storage thermosiphon system, where the tank is separated from the collector. These systems are very efficient and normally cheaper than other systems.
