Technical Tips for Revit
Remember, never “IMPORT” an AutoCAD file into a Revit project, rather use the “LINK CAD” function to import your CAD !les. You should then make use the “MANAGE LINKS” dialogue box to manage these CAD links. This will drastically improve the performance of your project.
Don’t bother trying to create the building at the correct rotation and location rather draw the building so that it sits vertical or parallel to the screen and then use the “ROTATE TRUE NORTH” command to set the correct rotation to true North. This allows you to create the building aligned to a plane that makes it easier to work.
