Wickeder Westfalenstahl GmbH has been manufacturing cold rolled steel strip and roll-bonded (clad) metal strip for the automotive, electrical, electronic, domestic appliance and general engineering markets for over 90 years.
The roll-bonding process combines many layers of ferrous and non-ferrous metals into one. Bonded strip is extensively used to replace stainless and non-ferrous materials because of price or because of improved properties of the bonded material.
Applications include: electrical circuits, thermal switches, ball bearing cages, coinage, cookware, heat exchanges, oil coolers, exhaust parts, heat shields and batteries.
Roll bonded material benefits from excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance, electrical and heat conductivity as well as heat reflection properties.
Unlike coated metals roll-bonded strip has non-porous layers and due to our diffusion weld process, the composite acts as one material during subsequent forming processes.
