SoMat Systems UK Ltd.
SoMat Corporation, founded in 1982, develops portable and rugged data acquisition systems as well as software packages for analyzing data. SoMat’s field computer systems are used to reliably collect vast amounts of data under extreme testing conditions. Many of their products can be found in Fortune 500 companies in the automotive, offhighway, aerospace and defense industries.
The latest product from SoMat is the eDAQ, a rugged, modular data acquisition unit. It can collect data directly from a growing list of vehicle network interfaces. Analog, digital and strain data can also be collected from remote sensors. Additional layers and an optional high level board can be installed to increase data collecting capabilities. All eDAQs have a built-in PCMCIA slot to accommodate Type II or Type III cards of varying densities. After collecting data, simply remove the memory card to read it using a PC or laptop.
Additional products include the 2100 and 2500 field computer systems, as well as EASE and DataXplorer software packages to analyze data collected during testing.
SoMat has 40 employees at their main office in Urbana, IL. Their products are marketed through a network of sales reps and distributors in America, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia. They also have sales and customer offices in Livonia, Michigan and in Luton, England.
