Human Impact Engineering (HIE) uses the latest proven technologies applicable in each project to offer our clients the best support in engineering analysis, testing and design. Founded by Tom Gibson in 1996, HIE has its expertise in the biomechanics of human impact injury, including accident reconstruction, investigation of human injury causation, design and evaluation of automotive components and safety equipment, and litigation support.
Now, with additional skills in advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) techniques, HIE has the proven ability to design engineering systems (with emphasis on safety equipment), perform mechanical testing, provide policy advice, conduct research, and undertake project management for private corporations, government agencies and research institutions.
HIE has worked with organisations such as Holdens, Autoliv, AHRC, ARB, NSW Police, Department of Defence (Canada), ADA, Crashlab, RTA of NSW, CASR, MUARC and various universities within Australia.
