Company Profile
Turner Morris is currently the largest manufacturer and supplier of construction plant in South Africa and has been trading since 1936.
The company was originally established as a small family business distributing the Kango range of electrical drills and hammers, which were imported from the United Kingdom.
In later years, to compliment the supply of these hammers, a factory was established for the manufacture of small plant suitable for the building construction and agricultural industries and subsequently this activity was also extended to the Mining industry mainly with the distribution of guniting equipment used for spraying of concrete in underground mining tunnels.
In recent years Turner Morris has, as a result of Globalization and the opening up of the South African economy, begun importing goods from all corners of the globe (Brasil, Chech Republic, Italy, Japan, Thailand, China, Malaysia).

Product Details
 | Turner Morris range of concrete mixers, vary in output from 65Lt to 500Lt. They are either manufactured or assembled in South Africa. Petrol (Honda, Robin & Firman), diesel (Lombardini, Listre, Robin & Hatz) and electric motors are used. The larger models are fully hydraulic. Optional extras – scales, water tank etc. Concrete mixers are also available for hire. |
 | Turner Morris offer Standard plate compactors. The range includes the locally made SC440 (120kg) with a 9hp petrol or 7hp diesel engine and imported compactors (80kg) with a 5hp motor. Round trench compactors are also available.
Reversible plate compactors include the German made Weber CR2 (131-145kg), CR3 (171-184kg) and CR5 (301-342kg) in both petrol (Honda/Robin) and diesel (Lombardini/Hatz).
Plate compactors are also available for hire. |
 | Turner Morris supplies petrol generators, diesel generators and three phase diesel driven generators ranging from 2.5 to 25 KVA with recoil or electric starters. |
 | Turner Morris offers quality, heavy duty petrol and diesel pedestrian double drum rollers. Effective widths of rollers available are 600, 650 and 700mm. They are hydrostatically driven for ease of operation. |
 | Turner Morris manufactures and imports concrete saws to be used when cutting various depths of expansion/contraction joints in the construction industry. Two types are available: push and self propelled. The self propelled is fully hydrostatic. Water tanks are available with all concrete saws. All models are available in petrol (Robin, Honda) or diesel (Lombardini & Hatz). |
 | Turner Morris manufactures a really robust heavy duty masonry saw. It can be supplied driven by Honda or Robin petrol engines or electric, single phase or three phase motor. The standard blade size used on the machine is 350mm. The machine is supplied with a water pump to cool the blade. It is also known as a brick cutter and can be used to cut any type of brick ( clay, concrete etc) by simply changing the type of Diamond blades that are fitted to the machine. |
 | Turner Morris dumper range includes 1, 1.5 and 2 ton in 2-wheel drive and 2 ton in 4-wheel drive. The 1 and 1.5 ton are available in gravity tip and the 1.5 and 2 ton in hydraulic tip. They are all diesel powered. The 1.5 and 2 ton are heavy duty and made in South Africa, are robust and heavy duty and withstand the tough local conditions. An imported Econo range of 1 and 2 ton are also available. |
 | Turner Morris offer two types of concrete buckets: shoe/banana type and cone type/bottom discharge. The shoe/banana type is available in 500, 700 and 1000Lt. The cone type sizes available are 500, 750 and 1000Lt. Chains to support the buckets can be supplied on request. |
 | Turner Morris offers petrol & diesel rammers. Honda and Robin petrol and Hatz diesel engines are fitted to the quality German Weber petrol range of rammers which have cyclonic pre filters fitted to each machine. Good quality rammers from the east, at very reasonable prices are also on offer. |
 | Turner Morris carries a range of welders fitted with petrol or Diesel engines. The welder end is made in Italy by NSM. They can be used at 200amps 35% duty cycle, 180 Amps with a 60% duty cycle and 135 amps and 100% duty cycle. These are jobbing welders.
A range of 100% duty cycle petrol and diesel welders are also available for industrial applications. |
 | Turner Morris range of space heaters includes the following: Kid40m and Kid60m with gas 2 bar (flame) and electrically driven fan. The air output on these units are 850m³/h (40m) and 1.800m³/h (60m). A diesel and electrically driven unit with an air output of 1.050m³/h (60m) is also available. They are used to accelerate the drying process on dry walling, painted surfaces, newly thrown concrete etc. |
 | Turner Morris offers a range of concrete vibrators which are used to remove the air from wet concrete to increase strength.
Mechanical flexible drive pokers range from 26, 36 45, 48, 60mm and more.
Pneumatic pokers 36mm to 150 mm (air driven)
High frequency pokers 37 to 65mm. These are high quality products used in large construction projects such as dams, bridges etc. |
 | Turner Morris floor preparation equipment includes the following: Scarifyer/Scabbler -petrol driven for roughening floors and reducing levels. Grinders (single disc) diamond headed grinders for reducing levels leaving a smooth surface. Grinders (double disc) for cleaning off paint, latents etc leaving a smooth surface. |
 | Turner Morris range of builders conveyors includes 7, 10 and 13m conveyors. This equipment is fitted with 8hp petrol (Honda/Robin), diesel (Hatz or Robin) engines or 380V electric motors. These machines convey concrete, bricks, sand etc on building sites to floors above ground level. |
 | Turner Morris high pressure washer range includes 140bar, 160bar and 200bar. Units are fitted with petrol (Honda/Robin) or diesel (Lombardini) engines. An electric unit of 150bar is also available. These units are used for cleaning dirt off engines, brick walls, roofs, floors etc. |
 | Turner Morris is the Plumber’s Mecca. Manual and automatic feed equipment for drain cleaning are available to turn a day’s work into pleasure. Consumables are also available soft springs, cutters and general drain cleaning tools are on offer. |
 | Turner Morris offers the following survey equipment:
Auto Levels ranging from 24x, 28x and 32x magnification with matching, aluminum staffs, tripods (heavy and medium duty)
Electronic theodolites, measuring wheels, measuring tapes and concrete testers are also available. |
 | Turner Morris offers centrifugal clean water and trash pumps. Both are available with either petrol or diesel engines. These pumps range from 50mm, 80mm and 100mm inlet and outlet. The South African made Hymech pumps is also available from Turner Morris. Optional extras include lay flat and suction hose. |
 | Turner Morris’s range of power floats include 700mm and 1000mm diameter machines. The 1000 mm power float is fitted with an extra large gear box which is guaranteed for a year. The power floats are fitted with Honda or Robin petrol engines. |
 | The Turner Morris range of screed beams includes 4.2, 5.2 and 6.2 beams which can driven by petrol vibrating unit. These screed beams are used to level and vibrate concrete floors up to 75mm as they are poured. They can be used in conjunction with vibrating pokers in deeper slabs. |
